KAREN HANSON

Consultant

Karen Hanson served for over 30 years in both enlisted and officer ranks, earning a commission in 1992. Over the course of her distinguished career, Karen commanded at platoon, company, and battalion levels. Early career highlights include duties as J2 Briefing Team Chief, Battalion S2, Group Adjutant and analyst at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Karen later served as Director, J8 for JTF-Bravo, Republic of Honduras and upon completion of the Defense Comptrollership Program at Syracuse University she deployed to the Qatar as Director, Resource Management, at Camp as-Salaya. She served as Secretary of the General Staff for JRTC and Fort Polk before deploying to Afghanistan as the Comptroller and the Director of Support for the OSD Task Force for Business and Stability Operations. In Baghdad Karen served as Deputy Director, J8, Office of Security Cooperation-Iraq. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of Tennessee, an MBA from Webster University, and an MBA and an Executive Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University.
