WILLIAM “RON” HAMBRICK JR.

William “Ron” Hambrick Jr (Ron) is a Motivational Speaker, Leadership Consultant, and Senior Partner at 5th Principle, where his vast leadership experience is utilized to assist organizations, of all sizes, see themselves and improve.

Before starting with 5th Principle, Ron spent 34 ½ years serving in the United States Army where he excelled in the challenging, unique environment that leading Soldiers offered. Ron quickly rose through the ranks earning top honors at every leadership school he attended, including the United States Sergeants Major Academy where he graduated in the top 20%. 

He successfully led, developed, and managed individuals and teams in organizations ranging in size from 5 to 10,000.  He also shared responsibility for the 75,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines in the USCENTCOM theater building cohesive, effective teams and systems that were tested in garrison and combat. 

Ron has experienced and conquered the challenges associated with joint, multi-cultural, multi-gender, multi-generational, and multi-national teams and organizations. His unique career path led to his selection as the first Armor Branch leader to be a Brigade Command Sergeant Major in the illustrious 101st Airborne Division. 


His follow-on assignments at our Army’s and Department of Defense most senior levels, provided operational and strategic exposure and understanding — something he is passionate about sharing. 

During his military career, Ron was well decorated with his awards and decorations including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and many others. His notable military schools includes graduating with distinction at all levels of the Noncommissioned Officers Education System, Scout Leaders Course, Equal Opportunity Course, and Operations and Intelligence Course.

Ron is an avid sports fan and has played both Rugby and Football at the semi-pro level. He is also heavily involved in Mixed Martial Arts and enjoys cycling, boating, travel, and reading in his spare time. He is married to his soul mate, Eileen and has two adult children: Zoe and Will III.
