DAVID “DAVE” TURNBULL
David “Dave” Turnbull retired from the United States Army in September 2018 after a distinguished 34- year career which spanned throughout Conventional and Special Operations assignments.
Dave’s last assignment was as the Command Sergeant Major of the Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. A few of his primary responsibilities were the restructuring of the Army’s Enlisted Professional Education system, establishment of Army University, and senior leader professional development and training across the entire United States Army.
Dave began his second career with Purdue University Global in October 2018 as the Executive Director for military Solutions. He manages a team of eight experts which build strategic military partnerships to optimize service members (and Veterans) education and experience, achieved through both civilian and professional military education into Purdue University Global degree programs.
Dave is a results-oriented leader with over 12 years of leadership experience as a Senior Program manager at the strategic level with over 10 years of experience managing multiple complex portfolios ranging in scope from four to 35,000 people and 50 million dollars. He possesses extensive experience in team-building, communications and complex problem solving within highly functioning and diverse organizations.
He is a proud graduate of the United States Army’s premier leadership school, Ranger school class 11-88, as well as the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, class 52. Dave was honored to be inducted as a distinguished member of both the 3rd United States Amy (The Old Guard) and the 75th Ranger Regiment. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Management and Leadership from Webster Universities’ George Herbert Walker School of Business and Technology, in 2018.
David, his wife of 33 years and son (both his greatest achievements) reside in Wasilla, Alaska. When not spending his time with his family exploring all that is Alaska, he can be found fishing for salmon.
